My name is Cathy Callan. I am an Irish artist from Athy, in Co.Kildare.
Inspired by the natural world and traditional oil-painting, I work intuitively, responding to universal themes of love, beauty, death and sadness. My passion lies in drawing and painting. Painting directly from life, my work
is immediate, and fast. Painting from reference or photos I use a layering process that is slow and mediative. I use both painting techniques to
portray elements from my life and work.
